The Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR camera will be announced on February 18th according to Pentax South Africa (same date as the rumors suggested 3 weeks ago):
“The Pentax full frame DSLR will be officially announced on 18 February. Watch this space for full details coming next Thursday.”
The dedicated battery grip D-BG6, HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR and HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR lenses and an updated roadmap will be announced on the same date.
In addition to the press photos and technical specifications, Digicame-info also confirmed what I reported here on PentaxRumors a week ago – two additional lenses will be announced with the K-1 camera:
There will also be a new Pentax D-BG6 battery grip (see first picture).
Ricoh has a new patent application for a lens cap with a lock mechanism – in order to remove it, you have to pinch the two release handles and in addition press the lock mechanism button on the front that also serves as a manufacturer logo.
