Ricoh GR II camera on backorder at B&H and Adorama (plus a Ricoh GR III poll)


Last year Ricoh ensured us that the “Ricoh GR is one of our most important premium cameras. We want to reassure our GR lovers that the series will continue.” Many readers have asked me if I have any info on the GR II replacement. I have not seen any reliable information yet. There was an interesting Ricoh patent (2016-201400) that was filed in Japan last year for a Bayer sensor without a color filter array (CFA) which should create sharper monochrome images. It will be interesting if Ricoh decides to produce a monochrome GR camera.

The price of the Ricoh GR II has recently gone down to $559 and the camera is currently on backorder at B&H and Adorama:
