Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR camera: price and kit lens info

I received a tip that the European price of the upcoming Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR camera is confirmed at €1,999 (previous rumors indicated €1,999-2,299 price range). The price quoted is for the body-only SKU. The K-1 kit zoom will be sold with the 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. A new HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 SDM (rebadged Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di USD) will be announced at the same time, together with an updated roadmap. Stay tuned for more information.

Two new Ricoh patents for improved live view and random pattern focusing screen

Two new Ricoh patent applications were filed in Japan:

The first Ricoh patent is to improve live view image quality and reduce flickering.

The second patent is for a random pattern focusing screen – on the left you can see a schematic diagram showing moire on a general focusing screen, on the right you see a focusing screen example based on the new patent – there is no moire. Here is the translated description of the patent:

Ricoh published their Q3 financial reports

Ricoh published their Q3 financial reports today. Their camera business falls under “other” in the financial reports and it is hard to get any Pentax specific data (Pentax was not mentioned anywhere in the report):
