The US price of the upcoming Pentax K-1 full frame camera is rumored to be $1,799, which will make it the most affordable 36MP DSLR available on the market today: the Nikon D810 currently sells for $2,796.95 after a $500 rebate, even refurbished D800 cameras are currently listed for $1,899. The K-1 will start shipping in April. The Pentax K-1 price in Europe will be €1,999.

In addition to the GR II Silver Edition, today Ricoh officially announced also a new macro conversion lens GM-1 for the GR/GR II cameras. Shipping will start on March 18th, 2015. The price in Japan will be 16,000 yen (around $140).

Ricoh filed a patent in Japan for a simplified camera registration process that can be completed from the menu of the camera and be submitted directly trough the built-in Wi-Fi.
