Pentax D FA * 85mm f/1.4 lens also on the 2017 roadmap

In addition to the Pentax D FA 50mm f/1.4 lens, Ricoh also has a Pentax D FA * 85mm f/1.4 lens and a new telephoto zoom lens on the updated 2017 roadmap:

There is also a new, 70-300ish “Telephoto Zoom Lens” on the CP+ 2017 version of the lens road map.

Note that the ultra-wide angle lens has lost its former “Large Aperture” designation and is a D FA whilst the wide angle lens is now a “Large Aperture” lens and a D FA★.

This is probably why the wide angle lens, formerly shown as the first to be launched, will now, in all likelihood, be preceded by the D FA★ 50mm f/1.4 and D FA★ 85mm f/1.4.

    • thanks, will update my post

That Large Aperture Wide DFA★, sitting between 30 and 40 mm, is obviously new 35mm. Which could be even f1.4, if we are bold enough.

Need an updated roadmap for APS-C lenses. Do hope some of the screw-drive AF lenses will be updated to something quieter.

It does seem that Pentax could join CanSoNikon – once they start doing FF, APS-C lenses get less love.

Updates of existing lenses are never shown on the roadmap.

Road maps of Pentax 645 and Pentax Q lenses as shown at CP+.

No change for the 645 lenses save that the infamous “2016 or Later*” has certainly become “2017 or Later*“.

Q lenses: Goodbye Telephoto Macro and so long Pentax Q… :'(

  • Oh. My. Gosh. Starting to save for it from now on.

Road map of K-mount lenses. No change except “2016 or Later*” –> “2017 or Later*“.

There’s a DA wide zoom, which could be a re-badge of the new Tamron 10-24. Good to know APS-C lenses are still getting renewed.

I think pentax should skip 35mm f1.4 as the Sigma is already very good. I’m glad to see 50 and 85 1.4 but I’m fine with my 50 and 77 1.8. However I really hope the UWA and WA are respectively 20mm 1.4 and 14mm 2.8.

This are a good news, but… it will be realy nice to have a cheaper alternative in this range (85mm). Like canon has 85 1.8 against 85 1.2L.
New D FA 50 1.4 looks amazing, but big and heavy and the 85 1.4 will be the same I think. The 77 1.8 is realy nice and not heavy, but it is old and still expensive like new model.
