Did you know that Pentax makes a sensor cleaning kit?

Louis, who runs our sister websites (SonyAddict, FujiAddict and 43addict), sent me these pictures of a Pentax sensor cleaning kit O-ICK1 that can be purchased on Amazon, Adorama and eBay. Here is a video on how to use the kit:

Product description:

“The Pentax Image Sensor Cleaning Kit O-ICK1 39357 is the official sensor cleaning tool for Pentax Digital SLR Cameras. The Pentax Image Sensor Cleaning Kit OICK1 is great at getting rid of dust particles, oil, and other substances on the image sensor.

The Image Sensor Cleaning Kit O ICK1 contains a cleaning stick with a special polyurethane rubber tip and special paper. To clean the sensor just press the tip of the cleaning stick onto the low-pass filter covering the sensor. Then wipe away the dirt on the cleaning stick’s tip with the special paper. The Pentax Image Sensor Cleaning Kit O-ICK1 39357 can work with Pentax Digital SLR Cameras as well as other Digital SLR Cameras by different brands.”

    Sure; that’s old news.
I have one, it works nicely (and it seems to me safer than wet kits). I remember an article few years ago, on DPReview – some Leica technicians were using this O-ICK1 for sensor cleaning.

I think Pentax introduced it early 2012. I first saw it with the introduction of the Leica M Monochrome, at that time both Pentax and Leica had the same representation for sales in BeNeLux.

    Edit, much older even.

This Kit is really good. It’s the easiest and safest method i tried. And as Kunzite said it : that’s old news.
Oh, and it’s Cheap to buy 🙂

Sure, I actually use that since I purchased my very first DSLR.
