I wonder what’s the purpose of this kit lens on full frame. I doubt that one who buys 2000 euro camera will put 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 on it. I see no point in buying expensive bodies and using them with mediocre lenses.

Because they haven’t got a budget zoom available for FF. What’s the point of releasing a camera and having only expensive and heavy 2.8 zooms or outdated primes available ?

Some users prefer smaller zooms with more range for lighter weight.

As for the 2000 dollar camera part, there are plenty people using kit lenses on their cameras, regardless of the camera price.

Are there any non-Leica full frame cameras that don’t have a slow standard zoom lens available as a kit lens? Canon, Nikon, and Sony all have them. And if this 28-105 has IQ similar to some of the old FA 28-105s they used to offer with film bodies, this shouldn’t be a mediocre lens (the 28-80 kits were the mediocre ones).
