Somebody converted their Ricoh GRIIIx camera into Monochrome (DIY)

There have been some rumors about a Ricoh GRIII Monochrome camera in the past. An old Ricoh patent (2016-201400) suggested a Bayer sensor without a color filter array (CFA) for sharper monochrome images. Kimio Tanaka: there will be no monochrome Ricoh GR camera

The Japanese photographer Kimio Tanaka, who had Ricoh/Pentax insider information in the past and a good track record of reporting relevant information, recently mentioned that Rioch is not planning to release a monochrome Ricoh GR camera similar to the Pentax K-3 Mark III Monochrome:
