Rumors for a new HD Pentax-D FA 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 ED PLM WR SR lens have been going on for a while – see also the latest Pentax lens roadmap that indicates a similar zoom lens:

In addition to the new Pentax KF DSLR camera, yesterday Ricoh also announced two new high-performance Pentax eyepieces for astronomical telescopes (see all Pentax eyepieces). The new smc PENTAX XW16.5 and smc PENTAX XW23 have a field of view of 85° – the widest viewing angle in the XW series, suitable for observing nebulae and star clusters. Ricoh Imaging announces a new Pentax KF DSLR camera for under $1,000

The previously rumored/leaked Pentax KF DSLR camera is now officially announced. The new model is a replacement for the current Pentax K-70. Pre-orders are coming soon at Adorama, B&H Photo, and Amazon. Here are the details:

A 12.5% increase in LCD resolution of the Vari-Angle LCD monitor to 1,037,000 dots (up from 921K dots)
Three new custom image modes: SATOBI, which produces colors similar to those popular in the groovy 60s and 70s, with cyan-tinged blues, subdued yellows and faded reds; plus two special-edition image modes: KYUSHU and KATEN.
Weight at 625g (v. 628 for K-70) due to internal component changes. Same rugged, durability in magnesium-alloy chassis.
The battery charger is different from the one included with K-70; it now includes a USB to USB-C connection (similar to K-3 III, which uses USB-C).
Utility software, which used to be on CD, is now in the camera.
