Ricoh released new function-expansion firmware updates for the Ricoh GRIII (ver.1.91) and the Ricoh GR IIIx (ver.1.41). The following functions were added to the Ricoh GRIII and Ricoh GR IIIx cameras:
- Custom White Balance: Up to 3 custom white balances can now be registered.
- Zone Select AF: The new firmware includes “Zone Select AF,” which allows the user to select any zone within the 3×3 focusing area* and automatically focus on the appropriate position within the area.

Evolving – New Enhanced Features
- Added “Custom 1,” “Custom 2,” and “Custom 3” as options for white balance settings.
Combine the basic white balance settings with white balance fine-tuning to register up to three custom white balance settings.
- Added “Zone Select AF” as an option in the focus selection menu.
Freely move the 3×3 focus area and automatically focus on the appropriate position within the area.
