What is Pentax SATOBI?

Pentax SATOBI is a custom image setting that provides a finishing tone similar to color photos from the 60 and 70s with colors such as distinctive cyan blue, dull yellow, and faded red. SATOBI is the opposite of MIYABI, which is suitable for expressing colorful landscapes. SATOBI was developed to reproduce a universal image that makes people feel “nostalgic”. Some of the SATOBI custom image mode suggestions are:

  • Sunrise or sunset scenes
  • Urban buildings with blue-sky scenes
  • Kids and babies in nostalgic scenes
  • Rustic or unsophisticated scenes
