CP+ 2017 Pentax interview

Pentaxforums published their 2017 CP+ interview with Pentax executives. A lot of interesting information there, here are a few interesting points:

  • Ricoh still thinks there is a need for an APS-C flagship mode (K-3 II replacement).
  • Compact GR camera with a zoom lens is not currently being considered.
  • There is no new Pentax Q products planned at the moment, Ricoh will continue to manufacture and sell Q-S1 and Q-mount lenses.
  • Rioch is monitoring the trends in the mirrorless camera market, however they do not have a “specific plan on our roadmap at the moment”.
