So these are the official specs?
USB 2.0 seems a bit odd, it already takes several seconds for an image to load when I shoot tethered with my d800 over USB 3.0

    • Spy Black

      Hopefully that’s a typo.

.7x mag… small for a ff cam, expected more

    • HD10

This is the same as the Nikon D800. I would say that it is within industry standard.

      • Spy Black

It’s still low. I use a K3 manual focusing screen on my D600 (also .7x), and the imaging area looks smaller than with the same lenses on my F2. These cameras all need higher eyepiece magnification.

        • HD10

Agree. The OVF on most dSLRs suffer compared to the SLR cameras of old. An EVF with auto-magnify when MF is used along with focus peaking would be my preferred approach for MF with digital cameras.

Back then SLRs didn’t need to bifurcate light to huge AF modules or multi pixel RGB exposure/WB sensors, so there was a larger amount of light reaching your eyes. Blame the Nikon F3 HP for setting the .7x magnification standard: this allowed for a longer eye point relief for bespectacled shooters. I, for one, wear glasses and have never minded the regular short eye point viewfinders of olden SLRs.

36mp with 50 frame buffer at 6.5fps! Who wants a d750 with a few lenses! Damn.

    • BVS

That’s only when cropped to APSC (15Mpix) size.

      • Captain Insane-O

I saw 35mm at the top and thought it was ff. Didn’t notice the apsc right above. Lol

    • Zos Xavius

It’s 4.5 at full resolution. Depth is 22 images.

      • Captain Insane-O

Didn’t see the apsc right above it. Thanks

  • CaMeRa QuEsT

Focus peaking on LV! Get that, CaNikon!

    • HD10

      Great!

      • Zos Xavius

It has no way of detecting that you are manually focusing. There is no way to implement that without a mount revision.

        • Vertex

          don´t confuse the noobs….

        • Kunzite

          It could be done with:
          a. an EVF, and that’s a deal breaker (this is a SLR system, period)
          b. new lenses with either:
          – focus-by-wire systems (all I’ve tried are awful), or
          – mechanically connected focusing rings but with a movement detection sensor

OTOH a high quality optical viewfinder don’t desperately need auto image-magnifiers like EVFs do.

    • Vertex

      magic lantern….

  • HD10

Had hoped that the articulating rear LCD screen will be a touch screen. This doesn’t seem likely.

  • HD10

Just thinking about the Astrotracer matched with the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 … potentially a very nice combo.

  • François Nuq

Motion Correction for Pixel Shift!!! They did it!!! 😀

    • Zos Xavius

Looks that way. Big news IMO.

      • HD10

        Indeed!

    • CaMeRa QuEsT

WOW! UNBELIEVABLE! So, does it means SR working while pixel-shifting or the correction is done by processing after the shot?

  • WillWeaverRVA

    4.4 fps at full frame?

  • This camera looks great. The only thing i hate is weight.
I would love to came back to Pentax. Hope the roadmap will look nice aswell.
Any info if Tamron 45mm will be available for Kmount?

  • CaMeRa QuEsT

It’s out! Go to dpreview.com now!

    So, questions:

Is the focusing screen interchangeable with screens suitable for manual focus? Are such screens being introduced with the camera?

Is an eyepiece magnifier available, or being introduced with the camera, for the viewfinder?
