33 AF points (see second picture) instead of 27 in K-3 / K-3 II?

      I noticed that also…. 🙂

The body design is not bad but selecting the desired AF points seems to be not straightforward. This is not good news, specially now that Nikon, Canon and Fuji has integrated a joystick for designating AF points, Pentax will need to do likewise in its new camera release.

The Nikon D500 joystick and its proximity to the “AF-on” button makes using the D500 a cinch. I find the D500 joystick-AF-On combo even better than those in the Nikon D5. The joystick makes selecting and moving the AF point even faster and easier than it was before where it was already very good.

What do the chips on the top bayonet tab mean?

This is also asahi man‘s explanation on Pentax Forums.

Pentax gear to be announced alongside K-1:

    – Pentax K-1
    – Battery Grip D-BG6
    – Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR
    – HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR.

Interestingly enough, the 28-105mm is not ‘HD’ nor ‘smc’.

With its ‘SDM’, the 15-30mm f/2.8 is definitely a rebadged Tamron (but who doubted that?).
