Ricoh released new firmware updates for the GR IV Monochrome, GR IV, GR IV HDF, GR III, and GR IIIx cameras

Ricoh released new firmware updates for the GR IV Monochrome, GR IV, GR IV HDF, GR III, and GR IIIx cameras. The GR World App also has a new version 2.0. Here are the details:

New Firmware Update for RICOH GR IV Monochrome (Version 1.10)

A New Firmware Update for the RICOH GR IV Monochrome (Version 1.10) has been released, bringing a new creative option and several improvements to everyday shooting.

The headline addition is the new Solarized Effect Image Control. Designed exclusively for monochrome, it inverts tones and contours to produce surreal, dreamlike black-and-white images that opens up a whole new way to see your subjects. 

This update also adds: 

  • AF Point memory option: Choose whether the camera remembers your focus point or returns it to center after power-cycling. 
  • Restore User Mode Settings: Quickly reset your saved USER Mode settings. 
  • Connection While Power Off: Turn wireless connectivity on or off while the camera is powered down. 

RICOH GR IV Monochrome Firmware Version 1.10

New Firmware Update for RICOH GR IV & RICOH GR IV HDF (Version 1.20)

A New Firmware Update for the RICOH GR IV and RICOH GR IV HDF (Version 1.20) has been released, bringing improved functionality to make shooting with your GR even smoother. 

Improved Functionality 

  • AF Point memory option: “AF Point” has been added to Customize Settings → Memory. When it’s set to Off, the focus point returns to the center each time the camera is turned back on. 
  • Restore User Mode Settings: A new [Restore User Mode Settings] option has been added to [1] USER Mode under Menu → Customize Settings. 
  • Connection While Power Off: You can now turn [Connection While Power Off] on or off in the Wireless Communication Settings under Menu → Setup → [6] Communication Settings.

New Function: Celebrate 30 Years of GR History!

As a thank-you to GR users, RICOH has released a special GR 30th Anniversary shutdown screen.

Download deadline: December 31, 2026, at 23:59 (JST).

Important: This firmware is available for a limited time only. Once updated, the shutdown screen cannot be reverted to its previous version.
