Check out this custom modified panoramic Pentax 645 camera (half-frame medium format) where Kyle McDougall tests a one-of-a-kind Pentax 645N modified camera to shoot panoramic half-frame medium-format images on 120 film, producing 33 frames per roll instead of the usual 16 by masking the film gate and viewfinder, altering the gearing and electronics for correct film advance, frame counting, and rewind while preserving autofocus, metering, auto-wind, and all other original functions.:

“In this video, I’m out shooting with a very unique camera—a custom modified Pentax 645 that shoots half-frame medium-format film, exposing 33 images on a roll of 120. This was lent to me by a viewer of the channel, who figured out a way to modify the camera to essentially shoot the XPAN frame size. I head out and shoot in my local area, as well as on the English coast, sharing the experience, and later wrap things up with some thoughts about frame size and how the camera was modified.”
