Ricoh Imaging announced new firmware updates for the Pentax K-3 (version 1.30) and K-50 DSLR cameras (version 1.10) that add the possibility to use K-AF4 lenses with these two cameras (K-AF4 corresponds to lenses, the aperture of which is electromagnetically controlled instead of being controlled by the traditional coupling lever; this is the equivalent of Nikon’s “E” lenses):

Pentax K-3 firmware update version 1.30:

  • Corresponded to [KAF4 lens mount] that is equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm control system. Enable new lens HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mmF4.5-6.3ED PLM WR RE to shoot stable by updating firmware.
  • Improved stability for general performance.

Pentax K-50 firmware update version v1.10:

  • Corresponded to [KAF4 lens mount] that is equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm control system. Enable new lens HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mmF4.5-6.3ED PLM WR RE to shoot stable by updating firmware.
