    Looks solid.

Viewfinder magnification 0.70? I always thought Pentax was known for really huge finders. And continuous AF shooting and the buffer are a bit weak, but then again it’s not made to compete with D5 and 1dx

    • PHILIPPOS RAFTOPOULOS

0.70X is ok for a full frame.

    • Eno

D800 also has 0,7x viewfinder magnification.

    • 24×36

.7x is typical magnification for FF, although I’d have liked to see Pentax increase it over the “norm.” Now what they do need is a good eyepiece magnifier…

Max $2.400 street … above that – expensive.

    • Rob S

Im hoping for $2400 retail, $2K street

Nice specs, but one ugly mofo

  • CaMeRa QuEsT

4K is probably for time lapse videos only, just like in the K-3. Apart from IBIS, pixel shift and high ISO range, every other spec looks underwhelming compared against the 2 year old D810.

  • VanHoff

Sounds good in general but… Battery life: 760 shots… :'(

USB 2.0? In 2016? In a 36MP camera? Probably not entirely seriously targeting this at pros who shoot tethered. Other than that, the specs look good. Lenses will be key.

Very, very, very, very few people have an actual reason to prefer 36MP to 24, or even 20. The rest of the camera gets crippled (fps, video, buffer, high ISO etc) just to pack in some extra MP that are, for the most part, measurebation. I guarantee you that you can’t spot the difference in someones portfolio using the Nikon D810 vs the D750. Online? I’ll bet my car on it.

I’m super disappointed. I was desperately hoping Pentax would knock this out of the park and get me to switch back once they had a legitimate body and 3rd parties got on board with flash triggers etc. I have no use (and neither do you, probably) for the extra pixels.

UHS I?! Ugh. This camera should have UHS II slots, if they must use SD cards.
