I received a tip that the European price of the upcoming Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR camera is confirmed at €1,999 (previous rumors indicated €1,999-2,299 price range). The price quoted is for the body-only SKU. The K-1 kit zoom will be sold with the 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. A new HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 SDM (rebadged Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di USD) will be announced at the same time, together with an updated roadmap. Stay tuned for more information.

28-105 f/3.5-5.6, eh? Hmm… not bad, could be better. But i’m sure it’ll be optically great, like the 16-85 f/3.5-5.6

f/4 might have been better, but we don’t really care.
We’re not getting the FF either of us right @Imp 😆

So Much Excitement!!! For me, i’m mainly excited about the lenses, not the body, but there’s something for everyone here! 😀

      Confirmed by who?

I wondered if I’d find you over here as well 😆

  • Looking forward to this.

    No price on the kit?

Gotta wonder if their marketing dept is a 1-man op. Worst product launch / teaser ever

Maybe I am missing something here. Pentax is about to introduce a New Full Frame 36.3mp Camera that would of been Great if it was June 12th 2012.

Note to self: Raise $2,000 by about April or so by selling a bunch of prints.

Pentax gear to be announced alongside K-1:

    – Pentax K-1
    – Battery Grip D-BG6
    – Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR
    – HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR

Interestingly enough, the 28-105mm is not ‘HD’ nor ‘smc’.

With its ‘SDM’, the 15-30mm f/2.8 is definitely a rebadged Tamron (but who doubted that?).
